Transportation Services for Bed-Bound Patients in Virginia
UniqueHands Non-Emergency Medical Transportation provides
bed-to-bed transportation services for bedridden and bed-bound patients who are unable to stand, walk, or transfer independently because of illness, injury, recovery, disability, or limited mobility. Our Virginia medical transportation service is designed for individuals who need hands-on assistance when leaving a private residence, hospital, rehabilitation center, nursing facility, or other care setting.
Before transportation begins, our team reviews the patient’s mobility level, transfer requirements, pickup location, stairs, entryways, destination, and whether wheelchair or stretcher transportation is appropriate. The patient is assisted from the bedside using suitable transportation equipment and secured before the trip begins.
When stairs are present, we review the number of steps, stair width, landings, entrances, and the patient’s condition in advance. Stair assistance is provided only when the location, equipment, staffing, and transfer circumstances allow the patient to be moved safely. Please provide accurate information about all stairs and access barriers when requesting service.
At the destination, our staff assists the patient from the vehicle to the requested receiving area, which may include a hospital department, medical office, rehabilitation facility, nursing center, surgical center, or residence. For return trips, the driver may wait when arranged in advance or return at a scheduled pickup time for longer appointments.

Families, caregivers, and healthcare facilities rely on UniqueHands to
transport bedridden patients between pre-arranged destinations throughout Northern Virginia. This is non-emergency transportation and does not include emergency response, clinical treatment, medical monitoring, or care by licensed medical personnel.
